On returning and starting again

I haven’t written here in a while.
Not because I don’t love it. Not because I forgot.
But because the silence got too loud.

You pour your heart into something, and when no one seems to notice… it stings. I started We Are Gallivanting as a love letter to movement, to freedom, to the stories I collected as I traveled through cities, countries, and pieces of myself. I wanted it to be a soft landing place for women like me—women who wander, who feel deeply, who carry both a suitcase and a sacred knowing.

But the truth is, I got discouraged.

No matter how good the writing felt, the numbers didn’t rise. The traffic was slow. And when the world outside kept unraveling—wars, climate catastrophes, unrelenting grief—I didn’t feel like adding my voice to the noise. Who was I to talk about solo travel and soul-searching when the world was on fire?

But then I remembered: this space was never just about travel.
It was about coming home.

To myself.
To curiosity.
To the sacred act of noticing.

Travel has taught me that there are a thousand kinds of journeys: crossing oceans, yes—but also healing from burnout, learning how to trust your voice again, rediscovering your magic when it feels buried under bills and broken dreams. And lately, that’s the kind of journey I’ve been on.

So if you’re still here, thank you.
If you’re new, welcome.
I don’t know how frequently I’ll post or what exactly this space will become, but I do know I’m not giving up on it.

We Are Gallivanting was never about travel as performance. It was, and still is, about reclaiming joy in motion. About being radically tender in a world that often demands we harden. About gathering beauty, even when it’s quiet. Even when it’s invisible to the algorithm.

I’m coming back—not with a master plan or perfect SEO strategy.
Just with a voice, a heartbeat, and a desire to reconnect.

Let’s wander again.
Not for clicks or likes—but for the truth we find along the way.

Love,

Ralonda
